About Mountain Camp Marin: Values and Philosophy
Mountain Camp Marin is a K-8 day camp that offers the closeness and community feel of an overnight camp, at the beautiful Mark Day School. With a focus on outdoor fun, creativity, and personal growth, it’s the perfect way for kids to explore, learn, and make new friends. From Archery to LARPing, Arts & Crafts to Music, there’s an adventure for every camper!
Mountain Camp Marin is designed to promote social-emotional in a tech-free environment. Our program helps campers build confidence, grow independence, forge friendships and develop important 21st century skills. Building on our 3 year research study with the Stanford Graduate School of Education on the beneficial impacts of the camp experience on child development, Mountain Camp Marin proudly offers opportunities for our campers to choose their own activities, giving them agency over their day.
We believe a quality summer camp experience provides education, challenge, achievement and acceptance. Our unique atmosphere allows children to learn in a fun and safe environment that encourages independence while nurturing lasting friendships.
Our Values
Mountain Camp Marin is committed to making diversity, equity, and inclusion part of everything we do—from how we hire and train our staff to how we support our campers. We know that a diverse, equitable, and inclusive camp experience is a more life-changing and successful one. We embrace diversity of background, perspective, culture, and experience, and together with our staff, work to ensure that every camper, no matter their background and lived experience, feels a sense of belonging at camp.
Our vision is to illuminate the finest in individual campers and staff through the camp experience to collectively make the world a better place. To do this, we return to our STARFISH Values program with every decision regarding our program.
