Meet Our Directors
Mario Del Cueto, Camp Director
Mario is a native of sunny Southern California and is a 19 year day camp veteran. Mario worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company following his dual masters at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and Graduate School of Education. Mario has also spent time at the National Football League and several ed-tech startups. Mario has a passion for the intersection of sports & games and youth development. Mario spent summer 2022 road-tripping the country visiting camps of all shapes and sizes. In summer 2023, Mario served as a director for Mohawk Day Camp in Westchester, NY. Mario is thrilled to be returning to lovely Northern California and is excited to continue to lead Mountain Camp Marin!
Don Whipple, Camp Owner/Administrator
Don is very active in the camp profession and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Global Camps Africa and is a past member of National Board of Directors for the American Camp Association and is the Past President and Vice President of the Western Association of Independent Camps. When he and his family are not at camp, they live in Oakland and you’ll find them outside with their dog Henry exploring the beautiful Bay Area. He is eager to create fantastic camp experiences for Marin families!
Scott and Sally Whipple, Camp Owners/Administrators
Scott is a graduate of Baylor University and has served as the Western Association of Independent Camps Vice-President and President of the Northern California Section. Additionally, he is an American Camping Association accredited Camp Director. Scott is committed to advancing Mountain Camp’s excellent reputation and programs.
Sally began working for Mountain Camp Tahoe in 1994 as a counselor and activity leader. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University and holds a teaching credential in Biology. Throughout her many years with the Mountain Camp program Sally has taken on a large number of diverse jobs and responsibilities – perhaps her most noble and courageous act occurred in 2003 when Sally married Scott. They are excited to continue their exciting new chapter in Marin.
